Having faced mental health concerns and as caregivers, we have often faced the absence of information – about health concerns, about professionals, and importantly, about finances. Building on from our experiences, we do not want any person who seeks help to feel alone, and clueless. To address the same, we are driven to provide you with a seamless experience. Our care managers will interact with you, and assist you with any help that you may require such as finding the right counsellor, consulting a psychiatrist, meeting a social worker, procuring medicines and many more.
A meaningful therapeutic relationship between two individuals is incomplete without empathy- the ability to see the world of other as it may be experienced by them. In the mental health profession, the word has become routine. But how can we maintain the sanctity and significance of this word intact? We, as an organisation, keep reminding ourselves why we are here and what it means to us. Mind Piper for us is a person who is interested in you, and is honest with you in the attempt to understand you, from your window of the world. This may help you in unfurling with humility so that you can disentangle the threads that hurt on your own. The journey is yours, and we would like to be your fellow travellers for some time.
Desmond Tutu, a social rights activist, said that “people become people through people” and we could not agree more. We must attempt to understand the problem as something that lies outside the person, and that are maintained by many interacting factors such the people close to us, the institutions we are a part of, and the larger cultural frame that we subscribe to. We acknowledge the role that communities play of both nurturance and stigma, and therefore, our work on mental health is not limited to one-to-one sessions, but addressing the larger narrative of silence, prejudice and discrimination.
The knowledge about what kind of therapy or counselling helps most people is vital as without this solid basis, therapeutic interventions are at the risk of involving personal opinions or using techniques that may not be the most helpful. Our team, through their extensive training and experience, realise and acknowledge the importance of adopting evidence-based practice.
